Rick Zammer had been involved in the development of our Township for over 40 years. Through his unselfish devotion, Rick had become a part of the fabric of our community. He served on numerous committees, in both government and civic organizations, sat on the local planning board and board of education, and countless other community related organizations. When we think of one person who gave back to our community, we think of Rick.
The Greater Washington Township Chamber of Commerce created the Rick Zammer award to honor not only Rick, but others who go above and beyond to make a positive contribution to our community. This year, the honor goes to Mark Moore.
Along with his wife Jamie, Mark owns and operates Underground Martial Arts and Fitness Center. A core value of the school is to build character by giving back to the community – earning it the moniker of “the dojo that makes a difference.” Every project is approached as a team, and in 2019 alone they have raised over $6000 for autism awareness, donated 230 pairs of sneakers for underprivileged students and raised almost $3000 for Night to Shine – a special needs prom held by the Tim Tebow Foundation – among many others efforts for charitable causes, organizations and of course our community. Mark has been a guest speaker at colleges and high schools and has performed character inspiration assemblies at Title One schools. he also holds martial arts and motivational workshops for special needs adults and inspires fellow business owners to give back.
The following have been recognized for their commitment, dedication, loyalty and support to our community. They are leaders and role models. In the community, their enthusiasm and support speaks for them all.
