August Message From The President Of The Washington Township Chamber Of Commerce

Posted on: August 17th, 2017

Dear Chamber Members,

Its been a busy couple of months, and there are some positive things coming to our community and we are all very excited to see them come to fruition soon.

As the President of the Chamber I get to sit on the Economic Development Committee and it has been an honor to take part it this.  In just the few short meetings Ive attended, there is much interest and participation from the Mayor, staff and Council to better serve the Business of Washington Township.

They are striving to make our community more attractive to Businesses and help the current Business community as well.  Ive heard from several Businesses on the frustrations and issues with getting things done and it has not fallen on deaf ears.  Some of the things that the Mayor and the EDC want to do is make it easier to do Business here that have consistently came up and being worked on are permitting, signs and fees other regulations.

Some have said talk has been going on for years, although Im relatively new to the Business community in Twp, I can say this is more than talk, the Mayor is hiring a Full Time employee to take the solutions we have come up with and actually initiate them.  The RFP should be going out this month, and hopes to have that person ready to go sometime in September.  What this gives our community is someone that can take the actions necessary to implement what has been needed for some time and make things better for all.

Sanders Home Services had their Grand Opening and we thank everyone who came out, if you have not seen the showroom its truly amazing and some very innovative things are on display.

We are also looking for Board members for 2018, an email will follow shortly, if your interested please contact us to discuss.
